The 2011 Hyundai Elantra has been unveiled at the Busan International Motor Show in South Korea.

The 2011 Hyundai Elantra is powered by the company's new 1.6L Gamma Gasoline Direct Injection engine that develops 140 PS and 17.0kg/m of torque. The engine of the 2011 Hyundai Elantra is coupled with 6-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel drive system. The company claims the new 2011 Hyundai Elantra is 10% more fuel efficient in comparison to its direct competitors.

The 2011 Hyundai Elantras dashboard inspired from the latest Kia Tucson and the newest Kia Sonata. What are also evident are two-tone inserts and an all new centre console that beams of higher class and quality. The probable engine under the 2011 Kia Elantra could be a 1.6L four banger blessed with the direct engine technology to boost the efficiency.

Press Release

Hyundai Motor Co. had its world-premier of the all-new Avante compact sedan, the companys best-selling model worldwide, at the Busan International Motor Show 2010 today.

"The new Avante encompasses Hyundais latest ambitions, featuring the best styling and performance in its class," Steve S. Yang, President & CEO of Hyundais Global Business Division, said at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) today. "Were confident that it will once again redefine the compact segment worldwide."

With sportier and even more elegant lines than its predecessor, the new Avante ? badged as Elantra in markets outside Korea - continues Hyundais fluidic sculpture design philosophy.

Hyundai has applied its latest 1.6L Gamma Gasoline Direct Injection engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission to the front-wheel drive compact, the first time GDI and six-speed automatic have been featured on a compact sedan in Korea. The new Avante delivers a peak output of 140ps and maximum torque of 17.0kgm. It is also about 10 percent more fuel efficient than its closest competitors, thanks to GDI, the six speed automatic and other fuel economy enhancements.

The new Avante will delight and surprise with a raft of other advanced features not found on other compacts, including HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlamps, LED combination lamps in the rear, heated rear seats, puddle lamps and a color TFT LCD information display nestled in the gauge cluster.

Under the Avante/Elantra badge, Hyundai has sold over 6 million units worldwide since the cars launch in 1990. Hyundai will begin sales of the all-new Avante in the second half of 2010 in Korea.

At a separate commercial vehicle booth, Hyundai displayed a hydrogen fuel-cell electric bus and a Universe Limousine luxury coach, among other displays.

Hyundais New 1.6L Gamma GDI Engine

Hyundai displayed its all-new 1.6L Gamma GDI engine in Busan today, which it first showed in Beijing auto show last week. It is the smallest member of the Hyundai gasoline engine family to benefit from the application of Gasoline Direct Injection technology. With the help of GDI, this four-cylinder powermill develops 140ps, an approximately 13 percent improvement over a conventional 1.6L Gamma fed by MPI. GDI technology doesnt only boost power output: It also improves fuel economy while lowering emissions. The new Gamma also features Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing, a Variable Induction System and exotic anti-friction coatings such as CrN Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating and Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

The new 6 series is obviously coming and it makes little sense to us that an M6 would not be soon to follow. The previous generation M6 shared the M5's drivetrain just as the new M6 would be likely to. Too much development cost has been poured into the M5 to not take advantage of it in an M6. With M SUV's now and M branding ever expanding, an M6 will likely be coming soon sharing many similarities with the soon to be launched M5.

It was only a matter of time until some crafty photoshop assassins put a hit on the alleged future BMW 6-Series. With fresh new materials to use, the fine folks at BimmerBoost have created some renderings of the 2012 BMW M6.

Details are scarce at the moment, but the new M6 will likely be powered by an upgraded version of the 4.4 liter V8 engine, producing near 600 horsepower, similar to the upcoming BMW M5. As with the regular 6 Series, we expect lots of Gran Coupe design elements to make it into the M6, featuring an aggressive front-end, a rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. As with any M car, expect to see aerodynamic side skirts, wide rear fenders and the usual four-tailpipe exhaust system.

Audi R8 Other technical details

The R8, like most mid- or rear-engine designed sports cars, utilises wider roadwheels and tyres on its rear axle. For the 18 inch alloy wheels (on standard summer tyres), there is just one range of sizes - the fronts are sized at 8.5Jx18H2 ET42, whilst the rears are two inches wider at 10.5Jx18H2 ET50. With the 19 inch wheels (standard fit in most markets), the theme continues - the fronts are all 8.5Jx19H2 ET42, and the rears are 11.0Jx19H2 ET50.

The vehicles included are the Audi TT, Audi A4 and Volkswagen Passat. The complaint alleges that the timing belts fail prior to the service interval, as stated in the owner's manual. The parties have reached a class-wide settlement, and preliminary approval of the settlement was granted by the court on 19 May 2008. Claim forms, class notice, and other documentation will be mailed on or about 1 August 2008. Details regarding the terms of the settlement will be in the notice sent to owners of the class vehicles.

F1 Barcelona - Preview (VMM)

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

Woking, United Kingdom, Apr 30, 2010

Its a race were all looking forward to enormously.

Jenson Button

The Spanish Grand Prix is a race I won last year, and I regard it as one of my best victories of the 2009 season. Its a relatively high-speed circuit, and one thats quite enjoyable to drive provided your car is working properly.

There are some fast corners, like Turn Nine and the final corner, but the majority of the track is made up of pretty long corners where you really need the car to do all the work. Its a circuit that really rewards precision, and punishes aggression. And if youve got a car that wants to understeer, then youre going to have a difficult race!

Fortunately, our car does seem to have a very good neutral balance in the high-speed corners its probably the most impressive aspect of the car and we went well during pre-season testing, so I think we go into this weekend feeling pretty well prepared.

Finally, Im looking forward to returning to Europe. Its been an incredibly exciting series of flyaway races, but I think everybody in Formula 1 looks forward to racing closer to home, back in the sports heartland.

Lewis Hamilton

Weve got a couple of fairly significant upgrades coming for this race. And while it would be nave to think that these will move us up the pecking order because almost all the teams produce a major bodywork update for Barcelona were optimistic that theyll once again help us to bridge the gap to the leading cars.

And, of course, weve proved in the past that weve been both extremely capable and prolific at adding performance to the car across the course of the season, so Im hopeful that well be heading into Barcelona in good shape.

If its a dry race, then, realistically, I think its going to be harder for us to be up at the front. As we did in China, well be putting additional emphasis on qualifying; it will be more important than ever in Barcelona as, traditionally, its always been a track where overtaking is very difficult. Given that most cars will only be stopping once, we have a less scope for passing, so a good grid position will be vital here.

Martin Whitmarsh
Team principal, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes

In recent years, weve produced successful cars with inherent performance characteristics that enable them to perform better in slower corners. While we havent overlooked high-speed performance, its not typically been our strongest area and that might explain our recent loss of form around Barcelonas Circuit de Catalunya.

For 2010, however, we feel we have a car that generally excels in high-speed corners, and while that in itself, isnt enough to suggest a complete reversal of our recent fortunes in Spain, we feel that the useful upgrades were bringing to this race, which include new front and rear wings, will help us consolidate our position among the leaders and, hopefully, enable us to close the gap to the cars at the front.

Despite leading both world championships, we are still working tremendously hard to bring additional performance to MP4-25. That has meant a tireless fortnight of work back at the McLaren Technology Centre, which was only minimally disrupted by the recent air travel problems across Europe.

In addition, Spain will mark the beginning of the European campaign, the return to our home from home in the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Brand Centre, and the debut of an exciting new visual identity inside the garage, which will feature a completely new look.

Its a race were all looking forward to enormously.
