DTM Barcelona - Preview

� As in the previous years, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes test driver Pedro de la Rosa will attend the DTM race at his hometown Barcelona on Saturday and Sunday. He will drive the C-Class DTM race taxi around the Circuit de Catalunya and he will be available for autograph sessions for his numerous Spanish supporters.



� Prior to the final three races within five weeks, Barcelona, Le Mans and Hockenheim on 26th October, the fight for the championship remains exciting.
� Mercedes-Benz won four of the eight races of the 2008 season so far.
� After 50 races between Mercedes and Audi, Mercedes leads with 31:19.
� Four drivers are covered by 10 points at the top of the rankings. Jamie Green (Salzgitter AMG Mercedes C-Class) is second overall with 45 points, nine points behind leader Timo Scheider. Paul Di Resta (AMG Mercedes C-Class) is tied on points with Green. Mattias Ekstr�m (Audi) has 44 points.
� Both DTM lap records at Barcelona were established by C-Class drivers. In 2006, Bernd Schneider posted the fastest lap with a 1m03.919; one year ago � on a modified track with slower lap times � Bruno Spengler was fastest with a 1m08.669.
� With a distance of 172.666 kms the race will be the third longest of the season. The race in Mugello on 4th May with 173.085 kms was about 400 metres longer. The longest race distance was covered in the Lausitzring race on 18th May with 180.856 kms.
