1 January 1929 � 80 years ago:
Hans Nibel became chief designer at Daimler-Benz AG. He took over the job from Ferdinand Porsche, who left the company. Nibel and Porsche had worked together from 1925 to 1926 in the design office operated jointly by Benz & Cie. and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft during the joint venture that preceded the 1926 merger which resulted in Daimler-Benz AG. Earlier, Nibel had been chief designer at Benz & Cie. since 1908. (Biography Hans Nibel)
