Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo saved the pole position in Sunday's US MotoGP at Laguna Seca despite the crash he had experienced on the qualifying session. His teammate Valentino Rossi will start on second before Ducati's Casey Stoner who also fell from his bike. Lorenzo had injured his shoulder in this incident.
