Fuel Efficiency In The 2010 Ford Ranger

This year Ford has built their 2010 pickup trucks with flexibility, versatility and value and that includes excellent fuel economy, especially with the Ford Ranger. The fuel efficiency in the 2010 Ford Ranger is not only better than ever, but it also gives you options. The Ranger's EPA-estimated fuel economy rating for the rear wheel drive 5-speed manual transmission is 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway for the 2.3 liter, 143 horsepower I-4 engine available for the XL and XLT models. The automatic transmission performance delivers 19 mpg inthe city and 24 mpg on the highway. Now that is something that the consumer can get excited about.

The 4.0 liter, 207 horsepower V6 engine with rear wheel drive and 5-speed manual transmission available on the XLT and standard on the Sport models has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 16 mpg inthe city and 21 mpg on the highway while boasting a large towing capacity of 5,760 pounds. The estimated ratings for this engine with an automatic transmission and four wheel drive are 14 mpg inthe city and 18 mpg on the highway.


All in all, the 2010 Ford Ranger power performance demonstrates competitive horsepower numbers that could be higher when compared to other manufacturers' models, but offers an excellent fuel economy in comparison to competitors, especially for the models utilizing the 2.3 liter I-4 engine.
