Chris Carrier will join Penske Racing this 2008 as crew chief for the No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge team in the 2008 Sprint Cup Series. He will be working closely with Sam Hornish, the No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge race car driver. Hornish is a new addition to NASCAR. He will be coming from the

Carrier has a very optimistic outlook about his move to Penske Racing. He says, �I'm very excited about joining the team at Penske Racing. I know there's a lot of good, talented people at Penske Racing and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and I plan to take full advantage of their resources and knowledge while also giving as much as I can back to the team. I've been fortunate to work with a number of great drivers through the years and I think that experience will help as we work with Sam to reach his goals in NASCAR.�
Both Hornish and Carrier will be joined by David Elenz as the No 77 Mobil 1 Dodge race engineer. Elenz is as competitive as the rest of the members of his team are. Elenz started his racing career when he was 14, helping out at the local racing team owned by Ed Whitaker. He became crew chief at 18 and it was also during this time that he had his first racing win. Elenz was with Whitaker racing for a couple of years and directed the team�s Busch series races. He joined Andrew Petree Racing in 1998 as crew chief and won his first Cup with race car driver Joe Nemecheck at the North Carolina Speedway in November 2001. In addition to his twenty � plus victories in the Busch series, Elenz also helped driver Tony Stewart and the Petree team take home the victory at
Hornish has great hopes for the stellar team that he is being given as he enters to NASCAR. He says, �It's going to be great working with Chris and David because they have so much experience at this level of racing.
