Rumor has it that another Formula One racing driver will soon be joining NASCAR - David Coulthard. Juan Pablo Montoya and Jacques Villanueve were among the two drivers who have first made the move from Formula One racing to NASCAR. Montoya has reaped considerable success despite being a rookie in NASCAR while Villanueve is yet getting the hang of stock car racing.
When interviewed by ESPN, Coulthard says that he is actually considering moving to NASCAR in the future. Coulthard will be on to his 15th season with Formula One next year. His Formula One racing career began with Williams. After the stint, he drove for nine seasons for McLaren. He is currently affiliated with Red Bull Racing, the team that bought Jaguar Racing last 2004. Should Coulthard decide to move to stock car racing, NASCARs Red Bull racing team could provide him with a spot.
The past few Formula One seasons have not boded well for Coulthard and he may soon be considering retirement from Formula One. NASCAR it seems provides quite a viable alternative for Coulthard.
