NASCAR To Raise Age Limit For Drivers

If you think youve got the right skills to compete and be a NASCAR driver, you better make sure that youre also of the right age. According to reports, NASCAR is considering raising the minimum age limit for a racer to compete from 18 to 21 years of age. As of press time, only two drivers have won Cup races before turning 21; Kyle Busch won at the age of 20 last 2005 in California and Donald Thomas won in 1952 in Lakewood at the same age. The rule change was done after NASCAR expressed concerns over the fact that the young drivers are being pushed into competing ahead of their time thus limiting their chances to grow and develop. However, this proposed ruling will not affect the racers between the age of 18 to 21 from competing in the Nationwide and Truck series. Now thats what I call strict parenting. The only question now is, will this ruling stop young and aspiring drivers from actually faking documents just to get in?
